Ceiling Cat showed up today in the men's bathroom at work. While I won't admit to anything, I'd assume it's related to this papercraft ceiling cat that appeared on BoingBoing today. He watches you. Previously: Meow Cat from Katamari Damacy UPDATE: A few days later it gets stolen.
This is the Meow Cat from Katamari Damacy. I was first introduced to this crazy PS2 game by friends in New York. Basically the game makes sense if you are not sober: The king of all cosmos gets drunk and screws up the stars. He sends his little 5cm tall prince to fix everything. To do this, the prince takes a Katamari (which is like a sticky ball) and rolls over everything to pwn it. The ball gets larger as you pwn more things, which means you can then pwn larger things, such as this Meow Cat. It’s a game devoted to ownage. It is very addictive and has a soundtrack that sticks in your head for days. Check out one of the original commercials for the game at waxy.org or see a gameplay video.
