Crazy Turbulence

My favorite illustration so far from my flight instruction stuff. From the FAA’s Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge, FFA-H-8083-25, page 10-10, Figure 10-15. I can imagine the illustrator creating it.

Minnesota RollerGirls vs Madison Dairyland Dolls

The best bout I’ve ever seen, but #3 ranked Madison owned us.

Minnie Looking for a Home

As many people know, I’ve been long-term cat sitting for my friend Garrett. His cat, Minnie as been more or less part of the family here for a few years. Minnie and Nadia have not been getting along well at all in the last 6 months and I’m being reminded more and more that this isn’t just a phase.

Minnie needs to be the dominant or only pet in the household. Now that Nadia has grown up and is sticking up for herself, Minnie isn’t nice to her anymore. She also complains to my roommates and I. Minnie and I had very similar problems when my ex-roommate Kristen got a golden retriever. Minnie was dominant over the puppy until it grew up, then the relationship was really strained. After weeks of discussions and exploring every option with Garrett, some friends of mine and both of my roommates, we’ve had to make the very sad decision to help Minnie find a new home.

Minnie would love a home with no other pets. She’ll greet you when you come home from work or school and she’ll rub up against your leg and hop into your lap when you’re sitting on the couch. She’s also independent enough where she’ll leave you alone too. She doesn’t like to be picked up but she will come up to you. She goes crazy for catnip, loves toys and is amazed by squirrels and birds out the window. She is friendly with human visitors and would love to find a home where she gets to spend time with you. She’s spayed, had her front claws removed before she lived here, has a healthy weight and is 6 years old. She doesn’t come with a price tag but has a collar.

If you have or know of a home for Minnie, please let us know. Thank you. =^..^=

Nadia’s Gifts and Mail from Germany

Nadia, for her birthday this weekend, got a wonderful purple collar with her name on it and a purple bell. Today, she got a DVD entitled “Curiosity Thrilled the Cat Vol 1: Squirrel Crazy.” When I put it on, she immediately ran to the living room to check out where the sounds were coming from. I watched the squirrels and she wandered around lurking. I put it into a simulated surround mode to use all 5 speakers. Heh. She didn’t find what she was looking for; she didn’t see the TV. We will try another day. For now, I am leaving the house with the DVD in “loop” mode.

Also got a great deal on a couple Gonzales albums by ordering directly from Kitty-Yo in Germany. Wee!

Happy Birthday, Nadia!

For her birthday she is going to nap in the sun. We might have cake for her later.

First Snow

Minnesota’s first snow was today. Here’s a couple shots of it from White Bear Lake, MN. You can’t really tell it’s snowing but you get the idea. Last shot is part of what’s in store for Saturday. If you haven’t heard yet, party at my place on Saturday. Come on over and bring friends. 3200 41st Ave S.
