Mystery Light

A light showed up on my speedometer on my drive home tonight. I pulled over to look up what it meant and apparently I need to check my brakes.

Annoying.

Buffalo Wild Wings, Apple Valley, MN

Out with Bill and Josh playing Golden Tee Live. Rocking the suburbs.

La Fonda’s Sports Cantina, Eagan, MN

Out here with Jeff and some of his friends for his birthday. This location may be a top spot for overhearing shop talk about the Northwest Airlines strike. (NWA is based in Eagan) Either way, I bought a round of Jägermeister and everyone passed the shots up except for Jeff and I. So we enjoyed them. Happy birthday Jeff!

Further Netgear Woes

After my problems with Netgear I posted about a week and a half ago I essentially got confirmation that the level 2 support guy I spoke with was a moron. Thanks to my vendor First Tech, I was able to get in touch directly with a Senior Support Engineer who will be working with a Switch Engineer on the issues with my switch. This is after a tech from First Tech came out (at their expense) to check to make sure I had everything configured properly. The tech also made a few suggestions which, while good ideas, didn’t change the problem.

Now Netgear seems pretty concerned and wants to figure out what is going on.

Even though I don’t really want to spend much more time on this switch, I am providing them with a bunch of logs and even a large sample of packets from our network. Before I send it off I am going to filter out packets that may contain passwords or proprietary information. They are mainly interested in broadcast traffic anyway. Boring.

2046 at the Uptown Theatre

Out at the Uptown Theatre with Brian to see Wong Kar Wai’s new film 2046.

Traffic Violation

I get pulled over on University just west of Fairview doing 45 in a 30. He gave me a ticket for “40 in a 30″ asking “Is that fine?” I said, “Well.” He replied saying, “You’ll take what you can get, huh?”

Almost a $120 ticket.

Blah.

Old Chicago, Roseville, MN

So Amy’s ex-roommate Jen works at Old Chicago. Amy and her roommates, along with I go out to enjoy some pizza and beer. Amy’s never met any of my friends yet so what do I do? I bring the most obnoxious drunk fucker I know: Bill. Bill brings Kim, naturally. Well… long story short, Amy and her roommates left an hour before we did. :-)
