My School Bus Awaits Me Outside

Bill and I at the 5-8 Club

Napoleon Dynamite

Napoleon Dynamite is by far the worst film I’ve seen in 2005. Went with Ian and Brian to the Riverview Theater to see it. After some awkward silence leaving the theater, I broke the ice and said, "That wasn’t so good, was it?" and then we shared the biggest laughs of the evening talking about how horrible the film was.

Ice Pellets

This is the most screwed up winter I have ever seen in Minnesota. Right now we should be under a few feet of snow, but it actually rained not long ago and there isn’t any snow on the ground anymore basically.

So tonight I start hearing ice pounding the roof and windows. I was on the phone and this huge bright flash of light and a loud crack scared the shit out of me. It took me a minute before I realized it was lightning. You have to understand that lightning in Minnesota anywhere near January 1st is a completly foreign concept for me.

I go outside to move my car into the garage and start scraping the ice off of it (a pretty thick coat already started developing). A couple that lives 3 houses away were out having a walk (which is /not/ a foreign concept in Minnesota around January 1st) and introduced themselves. More nice neighbors.

Photos are of my deck, street and alley. The white stuff is all fine ice pellets, not snow.

Happy 2005!
