Dave Lee and I both live within walking distance of the Riverview Theater and decided to see the British film Layer Cake which was showing tonight. Show was $3. The film was interesting enough. The unnamed lead character played by Daniel Craig is a generally well mannered “Businessman,” aka drug dealer that gets involved with a problem that gets deeper and more complicated (and bloody) as it goes on. A constant guessing game of who will outsmart who. After a while it wasn’t hard to guess. With every win there was a loss. At the end, it wasn’t a guess as to what would happen anymore, it was more of a guess as to how it would be done. And it surprised me a bit. I said to myself, “oh.”
