Grand Pizza, Stillwater, MN

Grand Pizza Four Cheese Pizza, originally uploaded by Aaron Landry.

Brian and I took lunch at Grand Pizza in Stillwater after a number of people said we should check it out. Brian and I are both originally from the Stillwater area and had never been.

Grand Pizza is owned by Andiamo Entertainment which also operates the Stillwater Riverboats, the Lowell Inn, the Grand Banquet Hall and Grand Catering. They’re located a block off of Main Street and they have a lot of space inside. The interior is a bit bizarre and Brian made note quickly of the reflective ceiling.

Lindsey served us promptly and was informative when I asked for suggestions on pizza crust. She recommended the thin crust over the hand-tossed traditional. Brian took the advice and I didn’t. I got their four cheese pizza, which contains the four easiest cheeses: mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and cheddar. When it arrived it looked quite nice and tasting it I immediately noticed how thick it was. There was a lot of cheese on this pizza, almost a bit overbearing. There was barely any sauce in comparison and the crust was chewy but not very flavorful. Overall, a satisfying pizza though.

They have a larger menu so there’s a lot to try. If you’re in Stillwater and craving pizza, it’s only a step off of Main Street.
