The Pizza Italia, Minneapolis, MN

Cheese and Crust, originally uploaded by Aaron Landry.

After a recommendation from Jilly, Dave and I decided to check out the Pizza Italia. It’s situated between an auto shop, a gas station and a couple small shops and has a small interior with only about four tables, a Ms. Pac Man machine, a couple other games and a tiny TV. They are set up for delivery it seems, but we decided to eat there and ordered a pizza with pepperoni and sun dried tomatoes.

The pizza arrived in decent time and looked right away like a standard midwestern style, party-cut pizza. There wasn’t much grease on it though, compared at least to similar pizzas. The crust is delightfully crispy but most noticeable it the very spicy sauce. Dave and I spent a couple slices trying to figure it out. He compared the aftertaste to that of a jalapeƱo and we’re positive it’s not red pepper. Either way it is bold.

Decent amount of cheese and the sweetness of the sun dried tomatoes countered the spicy sauce nicely. Overall a tasty pizza.

One of my faves! I LOVE the spicy sauce. And if you ask them, they are very nice and will cut it the real way. . .
