Once can now buy inflatable Easter bunnies, leprechauns, turkeys, Uncle Sams, and Frankensteins to satisfy one's theme needs throughout the year. Regarding lights specifically, I've seen a house where someone makes an obnoxious giant light cross that stretches from their roof to the lawn and has it lit from new year's til Easter. It's down the street from a friend's house. She's considered cutting the cords more than once. She'd never do it but it is fun to think about. I haven't talked with him for long time. To his credit, they did remove the lights that were in the lawn.
