Aurelio’s Pizza, Roseville, MN

Aurelio’s Pepperoni Pizza, originally uploaded by Aaron Landry.

Following a good recommendation, Christine and I visited Aurelio’s Pizza in Roseville. Aurelio’s is a chain local to the Chicago area that strangely has a random location in Roseville as well as one in Naples, FL. It’s in the Hamline Center strip mall which has a fantastic sign.

The interior is cozy with nice booths with “Aurelo’s” engraved in them. Random trivia cards mixed with Trivial Pursuit cards sit on the table for entertainment while you wait, but we didn’t have to wait very long.

Our pepperoni pizza was great. The crust was soft and chewy. It was cut well and the layers of crust, sauce, pepperoni and cheese were pretty well defined layers. It had a little grease but not much. Christine noted that the sauce was a bit sweet and I agree. We liked it. The cheese was to a nice golden brown that was just right. We left full although we couldn’t finish their medium. I can’t imagine what their “fiesta” sized pizza is like — the size that’s bigger than their “large.”

Aurelio’s seems to be popular with the locals and is apparently has a good crowd consistently. They deliver too. If you’re not in the mood for pizza, Christine mentioned a few times to me that the Spinach Calabrese, a “house specialty” she got on a previous visit, is great as well.

Yum. I’ll be back.

That’s your best looking pizza picture so far, based on my pizza preferences… a little brown and crispy on top - perfect! The spinich calabrese sounds really good too.

Quite tucked away, nice find. I’m familiar with Aurelio’s; their decor impressed me more than the pizza. Very homey.

Awesome! We love going to Roseville to the movies but we always have a tough time coming up with somewhere to grab a bite and we wind up at CPK or Green Mill, so this is somewhere we will definitely try the next time we are up there!
