I found your blog today and am having fun times reading through it! I agree that Sammy’s has good pizza but strongly disagree that it is the best in Coon Rapids. My all-time favorite is Pizza Flame, followed closely by Pizza Pub. Coon Rapids has a good collection of non-franchise pizza places worth exploring. I should give my love to Sammy’s since I am from the Iron Range area, but have found better.

You HAVE to try Pizza Flame, definitely harder to find, but much better pizza. There is also Linwood Pizza, have you tried that one?

We go to Sammy’s quite a bit. It is halfway between my parents house and my boyfriends parents house and down the road from his house, close and convenient to the movie theater so a win all around. I take my niece and nephews there on the weekends before the movies because they have a buffet and the kids and I all win!

The original Sammy’s is in my hometown. I’ve had their pizza more times than I can count, and it never gets old.

This location (coon rapids) is owned and run by the grandchildren of the founder.
