UPDATE: Thanks to everyone that showed up. In the end it was just over thirty of us. Jason DeRusha posted on his videoblog and here’s part of one of the songs.
UPDATE: Twin Cities Live posted both songs and if you look on the bottom right you can download the original 100MB+ version if you’re hardcore.
As a reader of my site, you are invited to view from my front porch my neighbor’s crazy lights set to music on Wednesday, December 5, 2007.
(Here’s WCCO’s look at the show last year.)
Stop by for a half hour some time between 6:00 and 10:00 PM and I’ll give you a cookie, a warm cider and conversation. You’ll have the best seat in the house for the wacky light show. You’ve gotta see it once! This is a kid-friendly event too. If we’ve never met, that’s fine too. Come say hi! I’m serious, you are invited.
If you’re the type that regulars Music Bingo at the Chatterbox or enjoys free bacon at the Triple Rock or conversely you’re celebrating the first night of Hanukah, don’t change your plans — just stop by on your way.
If you’re thinking of coming in from outside the area and not sure what to do afterwards, The Craftsman is a couple blocks away for finer dining, the Longfellow Grill is a nice urban diner a few blocks away, Merlins Rest is also a few blocks down and is great for pub grub with a pint. About a mile down Lake Street is the Town Talk Diner.
RSVP is not required but it’d be cool if you dropped a comment on this page or added the event on Facebook. Again, not required.
3200 41st Ave S. It’s a red bungalow and we’ll be on the front porch. See you soon!
P.S. If you’ve seen my lawn gnome around, please let him know. His home stoop is a lot more exciting right now.

Posted 05 Dec 2007 at 23:57 ¶Can’t wait to come over and make out in front of your house, Aaron. It’s a fun family tradition now.
Posted 06 Dec 2007 at 09:14 ¶Thanks again Aaron! Kim and I had a great time enjoying the music, lights, cookies, and cider along with all the great company.
Posted 06 Dec 2007 at 11:42 ¶Hey, Aaron, thanks for putting this on your blog! We wanted to see the display again this year but weren’t sure if it was running. Couldn’t find anything on line except your page. We drove over and watched the show, then followed your recommendation and had dinner at the Longfellow Grill. Had a great evening. If you see your neighbor tomorrow, tell him to look in his mailbox. We left him a $20 bill to help with the electric bill.
