I’ve had a bunch of problems receiving a package where it required a signature in person and they wouldn’t leave it for pickup anywhere. It forced me to work from home today and what showed up around 13:00 was a FedEx delivery guy driving a rental truck. What the heck?
UPDATE: From the comments, Alexis writes:
FedEx Home Delivery drivers technically buy their own trucks; they pay the company to provide them with a company vehicle. I’m assuming that if the truck breaks down, the drivers are responsible for a formidable substitute.

Doesn’t Fed Ex have a central hub where you can pick it up at? Or is that just UPS?
They do, but with the type of service my shipper did it was not an option. Nor was there an option for me to divert delivery to another address.
I have noticed that from time to time. I wonder if they have trucks that need to be fixed so they just rent a truck in the meantime. You’d think they’d have backups for that.
How is the lense?
Scott- Good to know I’m not crazy then.
Paul- Barely played with it. Been busy with work today. Hopefully I’ll get some good leaves this evening.
All- What Paul’s referring to is my new Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D that’s inside the box in the photo. Yay.
Check out a really cool use of twitter for the southern California fires at the KPBS website.

Alexis- Okay, now it makes sense. This post isn’t so much fun anymore!
