Minnesota Vehicle Registration Stickers

I got stickers in the mail today. I wonder if other states have this in the instructions:

2. License plate temperature must be above -10F (-23C) for sticker to adhere.

I suppose many have tried it. I personally have other things to think about on those -10F and under days in Minnesota.

There’s some truth to that. When your tabs are expired and it’s mid January, you don’t have much choice. I don’t think it was -10 but it was damn cold when I did it and they got quite brittle and the adhesive did not stick all that well.

I kinda doubt Missouri does, but it wouldn’t matter there anyway, at least not in Kansas City. Regardless of the plate’s temp when you stick them on, it likely won’t be too long before someone steals them off. Do y’all have that problem in Mpls? My roommate had his stolen two years in a row. He’s keeping the replaced ones in the glovebox for now.

Heidi- I have not even heard of that kind of sticker theft in Minnesota. The stickers also contain a serial number where the last characters match the license plate too. If you look close, you can see that I have blurred that out in the photo. I suppose it’d be harder to steal the stickers here.
