Wheaton Metrorail Station Escalator

Wheaton Metro Escalator, originally uploaded by s4xton.

Wheaton Metro Station has the longest escalator in the western hemisphere.

Thanks to Donika, Sara, Regan and Mike who have helped me tour around the last couple days off the beaten path and have given me places to sleep. See Mike’s and Regan’s posts too.

That’s a great shot. I love how the walls look as you go up.

So what’s the longest in the world? (I’m guessing it’s the outdoor one that goes up the mountain in Hong Kong. That thing if friggin awesome.)

I believe I read that the longest are for metro stations in Eastern Europe. According to Wikipedia, the longest is at the Парк Победы station in Moscow.

It’s a great shot, but I’m scared of escalators so that picture makes me kinda nervous.
