Joe W is way off. Town Talk Diner is probably my favorite restaurant in the entire twin cities area. The staff there is the most friendly I've experienced at a restaurant. The reviews for town talk have been ridiculously good. It literally is the talk of the town. I've tried a bunch of things on the menu and haven't been dissapointed once.

We went there a week ago and were underwhelmed. The food wasn't that good, the menu was confused, pricey, and lacking, and they didn't even have tap beer. The place was fairly dead and the wide open space of the non-diner room made it seem even emptier than it was.

To top it off, the waitress kind of spaced out, didn't bring Tricia's wine for at least 20 minutes, and the food took a very long time to come out, even though the place was crawling with staff and very few customers.

I didn't try the after-dinner peanut-chocolate desert glob, but Tricia hated it.

I hope they get their act together, because I really like that neighborhood and want to see good things there. But so far, the restaurants around there are too expensive for the quality of the food and experience.
