While I am working on holiday cards, I decided I had the nuts to pull out a bottle in the fridge that has been taunting me for almost a year: Banana Wine. It was a gift from my sister and her boyfriend last Christmas. I asked for interesting wine and I got it, I guess.
Before even opening it, one notices the pixelated label looks like it was done in MacPaint. It’s made by “Vive Winery, LLP” in Minneapolis. The place barely registers on the Google radar. The website listed on the bottle doesn’t exist, and the address for the place I was able to dig up has a bunch of different companies associated with it. It’s likely this “winery” doesn’t exist anymore, and what I am about to drink is rare.
Well, I popped the cork. This Banana Wine is one of the most horrid things I have ever had. I am impressed with how bad it is. I do taste the banana in it, and perhaps that’s what counts.
Update 30 minutes later: I couldn’t finish the pictured glass. I had to pour it out.
