UPS Store, Woodbury, MN

Not unlike other bad UPS Store experiences, I have issues every single time I go to the UPS Store in Woodbury, MN. Luckily, nothing too bad this time except for Don who was reluctant to give me a tracking number for my shipment. I assume that when you ship via UPS, part of the price is my ability to track the package.

Anyway, when I ask for it he asks for my email address. I told him I am not giving it to him. Why? Because the last time I was given the same promise I never got an email with my tracking number. So I made him “process” the package for me. Why isn’t this done in the same swoop as him ringing me up? Don wasn’t very pleased about me making him do extra work.

The kicker, he couldn’t give me a printed copy of the tracking number. A few months ago this was no problem but now I had to manually copy the tracking number myself. Why the change? I took a hiptop photo of it. Don acted as if I was being extra demanding.

Dear UPS Store: Please streamline your system so when someone ships a package they get a tracking number.

I guess you were just too lazy to track it with your Reference #…….???

Do you know how much extra time would be added to each customers wait if they had to type out EVERY address while the customer waits? The software system doesn’t generate a tracking # until all of the package info has been entered…. Ship To address, Ship From address, box weight, box size, type of package (rectangular or non-rectangular, letter size, crate, etc.), insurance, signature required…… do I need to go on??? The type of customer that normally uses The UPS Store values his/her time and would rather continue on with their life instead of waiting for someone else to type some info into a computer.

Next time just take the Reference # the guy hands you and get on with your life.
